Rising Scientist Justin Frere Wins Top Award for Outstanding Research in Microbiology

Big congratulations to Justin on receiving the Award for Outstanding Research in Microbiology! A joint PhD student in the Lim and tenOever laboratories, Justin helped uncover molecular mechanisms driving COVID-19 and long COVID while building an exceptional record of scientific leadership, mentorship, and community engagement. From leading research initiatives and teaching medical students to mentoring young scientists in New York City, Justin made an impact far beyond the lab bench. He will next continue his physician-scientist training in the research-track psychiatry residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
